Full job description

Availability must be Monday to Sunday 5 shifts over 7 days. Working shift hours are 8am – 4.30 pm October to March 8 am – 6.15 pm April to September

Household Waste Recycling Advisor & Plant operator (to drive machinery required for the site)

£12/hour – Part-Time, Permanent following probationary

Must be able to drive

The role is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the HWRC Department, in accordance with Company requirements and to contribute to the achievement of Departmental targets. To effectively work within a team on the HWRC sites and advise customers on where to dispose of their waste efficiently and effectively whilst also adhering to strict legislative compliance. Ensure that the site is kept clean and tidy at all times and ensure opening hours are adhered to.

General Duties:

· Contributing to the efficient running of the site, without compromising quality.

· Ensuring that all Company Policies are adhered to and understood.

· Maintaining excellent customer service levels successfully with the highest safety disciplines.

· Liaising with other Departments of the Business to ensure that all queries are dealt with correctly.

Responsible for working in line with the company health and safety culture at all times and understanding the company health and safety policy.
Ensure your compliance with all company health and safety procedures.

· Display a positive attitude at all times.

Specific Duties:

· To ensure the health, safety and welfare of visitors/customers to the sites by adhering to the appropriate company rules, regulations and operational procedures at all times

· Advising and providing assistance to members of the public on the correct segregation route of their waste. This includes inspection of waste (will require the general public to open black bag waste to inspect)

· Qualifying vehicles entering the site and collecting vehicle permits from permit holders.

· Ensuring the site is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times.

· Reconciling monetary transactions.

· Operating mobile plant strictly to operational and health and safety instructions.

· Undertaking site inspections and reporting any unsafe conditions to the line manager.

· Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and within your H&S responsibilities as detailed in the company H&S policy.

· To report any incidences that occur within the Department to your Line Manager.
