School Visits

A big thank you to Ysgol Heol Goffa, they created this wonderful collage out of recycled materials. They kindly donated to CWM Environmental for display.

We currently operate a recycling collection to all of the schools within Carmarthenshire. Children are actively encouraged to act responsibly with their waste and to recycle, recover and reuse as much as possible. We recognize that educating and involving children about the importance of looking after the world in which we all live today will lead to their sustainable future.

Any schools interested in organising a visit to our MRF should in the first instance contact Carmarthenshire County Council who will explain health, safety and welfare arrangements prior to contacting CWM to make arrangements.

In school we have started to recycle more…”

Daffryn Taf School

On behalf of our year 11 group Asdan group we would like to thank you for our recent tour around the recycling centre. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and we learnt a lot. The best bit was looking at the baler and how it worked. I did not realize how much rubbish gets recycled. As a group we will be doing everything we can to influence other pupils in the school to change their ways and do far more recycling…

Ysgol Heol Goffa

…Your warm welcome made us feel at home, your exciting Centre filled us with amazement, and the vision and the dedication given by you also astounded us…We also thank you for recycling our school waste and for the work you are doing for the community on our behalf. I am really glad that the children saw and (partly) understood what happens to our recycling when it leaves school…Not only was it an education for the children, but it was an eye opener for us as well. I shall certainly be more aware of the things I can recycle at home…

Pembroke Comprehensive School

…The pupils have talked about what they learned constantly since they came back and were amazed at what they thought they knew, but didn’t, about recycling…

Ysgol Y Gwendraeth

Received from a pupil, “Thank you for letting me come to see where all my recycling goes. I really liked seeing all the cans squashed together. Thank you for a nice day.”

Dafen C P School

The members of Dafen Eco-Council learned a lot about recycling and realized that by recycling we are doing a lot more for the environment than we thought we were. The tour around the yard was very intresting, and we found out what happens to the blue and black bags we use. The picking line looked like a lot of very hard work and I think most of our Eco Council thought machines did this job…
